Real People. Real Mushrooms.
That’s really us. We started Tremetes together after being frustrated by the flood of fake mushroom supplements—filled with myceliated grain and shady claims like “packaged in the USA.” We wanted something better. So we built it ourselves. Every jar reflects our hands-on care, our belief in honest ingredients, and our shared mission: real mushrooms, real quality, from our family to yours.

Our Story
Tremetes: Legacy in a Name, Power in the Mushroom
Tremetes, LLC is named after Trametes versicolor, the species commonly known as Turkey Tail—a mushroom renowned for its vibrant form and rich immune-supportive potential. The name Trametes means “one who is thin,” a nod to its delicate, fan-shaped structure, while versicolor means “of various colors,” referencing its striking, multihued appearance.
While Turkey Tail inspired our name, our mission has grown to include two other powerful fungi: Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus), known for its neurotrophic properties, and Antler Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum, antler form), prized for its triterpene-rich adaptogenic profile. Each species offers unique, research-backed bioactive compounds—like beta-glucans, hericenones, and triterpenes—that support human health in remarkably different ways.
From Precision to Perspective: A Journey Rooted in Science and Nature
After nearly two decades working across oncology, cardiology, and metabolic disorders in the life sciences industry, I’ve seen the power of modern medicine—but also its limitations. My growing respect for natural compounds and the body’s pursuit of homeostasis led me to functional mushrooms—nature’s answer to balance, resilience, and integrative health support.
A Personal Connection: From the Forest to the Lab
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent weekends foraging mushrooms with my family in the Mount Rainier backcountry. That early fascination with fungi evolved into a lifelong passion—one now expressed through Tremetes, LLC, where every product reflects years of scientific rigor and personal reverence for nature.
Authenticity Matters: No Fillers. No Mycelium. No Gimmicks.
Many so-called “mushroom extracts” on the market aren’t mushrooms at all. Some contain only grain mycelium or biomass. Others — especially cheap imports — have been caught with zero fungi content, nothing but fillers and starch. These gimmicks dilute potency, mislead consumers, and rob people of the real benefits of medicinal mushrooms.
We do it differently: 100% fruiting bodies. 100% real mushrooms. Always.
At Tremetes, we use only the fruiting body, grown indoors in the United States using wood-based substrates to mimic natural growing conditions. It’s slower and more expensive—but it’s the only way to ensure a product rich in the compounds that actually matter:
-PSK, PSP, and Coriolan in Turkey Tail
-Hericenones in Lion’s Mane
-Triterpenes in Antler Reishi
We verify every batch with third-party testing and never use mycelium or imported shortcuts.
Why Tremetes?
Because beta-glucans aren't all the same. Because hericenones come only from fruiting bodies. Because antler Reishi is chemically superior to conk forms. Because you deserve to know what’s in your jar—and why it works.
At Tremetes, we don’t compromise.
We grow. We test. We educate.
We invite you to boost your life naturally with mushrooms that are real, rooted, and rigorously crafted.
Warmly,
Dan & Suzette Kim
